Thank you Mommy Emma
I’m so thankful for my grandmother Emma Louise May aka “Mommy Emma.” As a young woman, she migrated from Orangeburg, South Carolina to the Washington DC area where she became a domestic worker taking care of affluent families. She was always a first class lady. She was polite, kind, loving and a wonderful grandmother. She wore white gloves not only as an usher for church but everywhere she went. She ironed sheets and pillow cases. Her house was immaculate. She cooked the best mac and cheese, fried chicken, cabbage, and the best pound cake. Kudos to “Mommy Emma” who influenced my life. #ThankfulTuesday #ThankYouMommyEmma
